This position is responsible for developing, driving and executing Talent Acquisition strategies that support all University of Utah Health: Hospital and Clinics business divisions. Primary focus will include working closely with business partners and HR leadership to drive world class Talent Acquisition practices and strategy. The incumbent is responsible for promoting, marketing, and delivering social media distribution campaigns by utilizing and accessing job boards and recruitment platforms. Effectively manage internal and external recruiting capacity, streamline processes/procedures to assist team members work more effectively, and drive results and accountability through metrics and data analysis.


  • Develops and implements talent pipeline strategies and programs that support a consistent flow of qualified, diverse and high-caliber candidates by utilizing various sourcing methodologies, channels, tools and technologies.
  • Proactively and continuously utilizes effective sourcing strategies (passive and non-passive) in an effort to build a network of high quality, diverse candidates for current and future openings.
  • Conducts complex internet based searches using a wide variety of search engines, social media direct approach calls, networks, directories and other recruitment databases.
  • Demonstrated competence with current sourcing methods such as Boolean search strings with continued interest in learning the latest search methodologies and technologies.
  • Develops and places advertisements and other communication vehicles for open positions.
  • Participates in conferences, industry organization and networking events to amplify and promote the organization’s brand.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges/universities, employment agencies, social media recruitment and social media communication, and internet sites; networking through industry contacts and participating in professional organizations.
  • Measure and lead a successful performance staffing metrics dashboard to include, but not limited to: Number of Positions Filled, Time to Fill, Diversity, Source of Hire, Offer/Acceptance, Cost per Hire and other internal measurements and standards that drive an effective talent acquisition platform.
  • Regular analysis and reporting of recruitment results including a regular presentation of recruitment results in staff and organizational meetings.
  • Assessing and establishing where required computerized databases. Extraction, analysis and interpretation of complex information from multiple sources in response to information requests as needed.
  • Development and maintenance of the organization’s website and social media platform(s).
  • Works with agency and search firms when applicable.
  • Ensures that recruiting and employment activities are in compliance with government regulations and organization policy and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability and desire to build to pro-actively build personal networks and knowledge base in areas of expertise.




  • Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalency.
  • Eight years of recruitment experience, with at least three of them being in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications (Preferred)


  • Demonstrated competency of social media recruiting.
  • Supervisory experience, including performance management, coaching and development of team members.
