The primary role of this position is to lead revenue integrity initiatives in the review of medical charts for appropriate documentation, billing, coding, compliance with laws and regulations, and related information.  In coordination with both Revenue Cycle Support Services and clinical staff, this position provides the following functions: 

  • Leads audit processes to identify potential discrepancies between codes and regulations or documentation.  Identifies and manages corresponding billing adjustments.
  • Initiates training and process improvements in the prevention of errors.  Participates in the development and implementation of revenue cycle policies or practices.
  • Researches and assists with CPT updates, federal and state government billing, coding guidelines, and price file updates.

 

The secondary role of this position is to provide routine and ad-hoc financial support to both administration and clinical staff.  Support functions include specialized financial analysis and reporting, operating and capital budgeting, and long-range forecasting. 

 

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides information related to planning, policy development, work methods and procedures, manpower utilization, organizational structure, distribution of assignments, and information management.
  • Provides program and operations research and analysis.
  • Conducts studies, productivity analyses and surveys to improve systems.
  • Analyzes new program plans, goals and objectives.
  • Assists in the preparation and evaluation of special projects.
  • Facilitates and conducts management team group processes.
  • Designs forms tables, graphs and charts for summarizing information.
  • Determines statistical methods used to analyze data.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to department/University financial issues.
  • May be assigned special projects requiring knowledge of governmental and business accounting practices.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Four years of progressively more responsible financial management analyst experience.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Master of Business Adminstration (MBA) or Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) is preferred.
  • Certified Hematology and Oncology Coder Credential is preferred, or willingness to earn.
