This position is managing new membership and retention responsibilities throughout the region of coverage by University of Utah Health Plans (UUHP). It will manage and coordinate community outreach efforts for UUHP and its various teams, along with partnerships through U Health, Health Sciences, and lower U of U campus on outreach efforts. This position will develop programs to increase awareness of UUHP throughout the region covered by UUHP plans. This position will manage an outreach coordinator, who will assist in developing, scheduling, and participating in outreach functions.

Responsibilities

Talent Management

  • Hiring, training, developing, and communicating with staff.

Financial Management

  • Responsible for developing, monitoring and achieving budget goals.
  • Manages labor and non-labor expenses to budget or flex budget.
  • Manages revenue to budget to maximize potential revenue.

EPE/Service

  • Responsible for upholding PROMISE standards of direct reports and team members.

Quality

  • Responsible to achieve quality goals for assigned area(s).
  • Manages and promotes continuous process improvements in assigned area(s).

Performance Management

  • Responsible to provide staff feedback on performance, including on-time appraisals and coaching.
  • Responsible to deal with conflicts in a proactive manner and to reach resolution in a timely manner.

Building Relationships

  • Forms positive relationships with staff, peers, and senior leadership to support the mission, vision, values, and performance standards of the organization.
  • Actively engages staff with updates and news as well as involving staff in decisions and work teams. Provides feedback and recognition when appropriate.

  • Demonstrated specific knowledge of Health Plans, with various health insurance products.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing outreach programs.

  • Demonstrated success in developing relationships with community leaders and organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with, support and influence key decision-makers in the provider and payer community is necessary.
  • Ability to professionally representing the organization in social and public settings.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
  • Demonstrated analytical, intuitive and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be flexible as it relates to schedule, responsibilities and priorities.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point. General proficiency in technology, social media, business intelligence tools and CRM software.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in health education, public or community health, health care administration or a related field or equivalency.
  • Four years of more progressively responsible management experience preferably in a health plan or community organization setting.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Experience with program management, development, event planning and operations.
  • Master’s degree in a related area, or equivalency.
