The Critical Care Internship program begins in March 2018.
The Critical Care Internship Program is designed to provide the intern with basic intensive care skills and knowledge through a combination of didactic and clinical experiences. The program includes approximately 150 hours of class time, 520-600 hours of clinical experience, weekly individual course work, research projects and presentations. The content of the course will enable the intern to use critical thinking, research, and critical care clinical skills to identify, plan, and provide individualized competent patient care in the critical care arena.
The Critical Care Internship Program is an 20 week supervised program for new graduates and experienced nurses. The program provides didactic and clinically supervised experiences, which will transition the participant to the role of an adult critical care practitioner.
At the completion of the Critical Care Internship Program, you will be hired into one of the adult Critical Care Units, Emergency Department, or into our internal Critical Care Resource Pool. You will be required to fulfill two years of full time employment in an adult ICU at the University Hospital upon completion of the program; otherwise, reimbursement will be prorated.
