This position for use in Health Plans Departments only.

This position coordinates provider relations and credentialing processes to facilitate accurate data collection and ensure effective internal and external communications.

• Coordinates process for credentialing packets.

• Gathers applicable data from the department for provider newsletters.

• Updates provider information to the provider database.

• Maintains the master credentialing log.

• Oversees the update and creation of the provider directories.

• Manages the refund requests.

• Audits provider data between multiple systems to ensure accuracy.

• Maintains and files paper and electronic contracting folders to ensure consistent formatting and completeness.

• Provides customer service to internal and external staff about contracts, claim payment, etc.

• Records and files physical facility questionnaires.

• Assist in creation of educational provider activities including scheduling, presentation materials and coordination.

• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to effectively convey information and collaborate with providers, billing staff, internal health plan staff, health plan management, governmental agency personnel, and/or other applicable customers as assigned.

• Detail oriented.

• Self motivated.

• Experience with health insurance claims and Epic Tapestry.

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and determine the order of importance.

• Ability to multi-task and remain highly organized in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience and knowledge regarding insurance plans (Medicare, Medicare, commercial) credentialing, provider contracting, medical billing and coding and contract compliance.

• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the job description.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in a health or business related discipline or equivalency.

Preferred

• Prior experience with health insurance claims and Epic Tapestry specifically is preferred.

• This is a sedentary position in an office setting that may exert up to 10 pounds and may lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position involves sitting most of the time and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
