SIGN ON BONUS OFFERED! Hospitals and Clinics is embarking on a new program to attract and retain qualified employees. The program provides a signing bonus for new hired employees at a 0.50 FTE or greater. • The first installment is paid out upon hire within the first 30 days. • The second installment is paid out after 1 year of employment. In order to qualify: • The applying candidate must be an external candidate.• Must receive an offer before March 31st, 2024.• If, at any time during the first twelve (12) months of employment, an eligible employee drops below a .50 FTE, all future bonuses are forfeited, regardless of whether or not they later return to an FTE above .50.• If an eligible employee terminates from the organization and is subsequently rehired, they must have been separated from the organization for a period of at least 3 months before becoming eligible once again for the program. Sign-on bonuses and payments are taxable income to the employee. HCH 4 Medical Oncology is a 25 bed inpatient unit. We have a wide variety of patients with medical needs with the common diagnosis of cancer. Patients range from a brand new diagnosis/work-up and hearing cancer for the first time, inpatient chemotherapy treatment, symptom management, complications related to treatment or their cancer, through end of life. Since cancer can affect any organ system in the body, we have all types of patients, like, neuro issues, cardiac issues, GI issues, etc. We have an average length of stay of 5 days, discharging about a third of our patients every day and admitting new patients. We work closely with the other HCH units and often take overflow from both the BMT/Heme unit and the surgical unit. We are passionate about oncology and oncology patients.

All newly hired RNs in this position will attend a weekly Transition to Practice (TTP) Program that coincides with their onboarding. This program instructs staff on policies, procedures, skills and best practices at the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics (UUHC). New RNs (with less than 1-year of applicable nursing work experience) will also be automatically enrolled in the UUHC Nurse Residency Program. The Nurse Residency Program supports new RNs in their first year of practice through monthly trainings focused on growing in their confidence, clinical skills, leadership and professional development skills. Various tracks are offered to help develop new RN’s in their area of specialty such as: Oncology, Critical Care, Acute Care, Perioperative, Ambulatory, Women’s and Children’s, and Behavioral health. This position provides the technical functions associated with the delivery of clinical pharmacy services by maintaining proper stock levels in all pharmacy locations, compounding or otherwise preparing, filling, pricing, and delivering pharmaceuticals or other related items. The incumbent may perform duties such as entering prescriptions, completing reports, operating and maintaining automated dispensing devices, inputting computer data, and providing all aspects of customer service that are required to provide Pharmacy Department services. This position completes the essential functions of the job under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. As a Pharmacy Technician II, this position provides advanced services such as IV therapy, preparation of chemotherapy, maintenance of automated dispensing machines, narcotic coordination, investigational drug therapy, billing/coding. Technician II incumbents are expected to plan, coordinate, and implement training programs for other staff. Technician IIs have a higher level of responsibility for departmental and organizational problem solving.

This position helps to provide optimal nutritional care to neonates and infants. The incumbent is responsible for the receipt of expressed human milk, proper storage, and preparation of individual feedings for neonates and infants cared for in the Newborn Intensive Care and Intermediate Care nurseries. This position has no responsibility for direct patient care.
