    This position is responsible for promoting the educational mission of University of Utah Health through overseeing the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and initiatives to providers, clinicians and health care workers, and the community as a whole. This position will act as a liaison between Hospitals and Clinics internal to UUH, and to external partners to determine resources and capacity for educational outreach programs and services throughout the region. He or she develops cost-effective, high-impact educational strategies and solutions that address identified educational gaps aligning with department and organization strategy.

    This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

    Responsibilities

    • Anticipates and articulates emerging educational needs with partners throughout the region
    • Acts as a mentor providing education and guidance for the education coordinators
    • Oversees strategy planning, education program development, implementation, and evaluation for assigned new programs
    • Ensures consistent methods for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data pertaining to program participants and efficacy
    • Identifies strategies for current program improvement, eg. Content, distribution, effectiveness, etc
    • Identifies barriers or process issues and strategizes and implements solutions with responsible programs
    • Manages projects and coordinates resources including staff assignments within and outside of the department
    • Ensures that learning activities deliver intended outcomes

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

    • Ability to perform essential functions as outlined above
    • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills
    • Must be able to independent oversight and decision making activities related to education programs
    • Must possess and demonstrate a high level of computer skills, and be able to teach and support the instruction of the organization's computer systems according to the assigned area of focus

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in education, communications or a related field, or equivalency
    • Four years of related experience
