Neuro Acute Care Unit

Unit Descriptions: Our Neuro Acute Care unit (NACU) provides care to general neurology patients (strokes, seizures, migraines, and neurologic diseases such as Parkinson’s) and neuro-surgery patients (brain surgeries, brain tumor surgeries, and spine surgeries). NACU also receives some overflow patients from other services.
NACU has three beds dedicated to our epilepsy diagnosis and treatment and is the only acute care unit (non-ICU) that takes patients on ventilators. This dynamic, fast-paced neurology unit is a Nationally Certified Stroke Center and telemetry unit. The ideal candidate is a team oriented person with strong critical thinking skills who thrives on patient and family interaction. Staff on NACU has many opportunities for education, to participate in research, and for career advancement.
This position provides patient care at the direction of a Registered Nurse. Requiring direct contact with patients and their families as well as the performance of indirect patient care activities necessary to support patients and their environment.
This position may be required to access medications within their scope of practice and according to State Law.
