This position provides core clinical services within assigned treatment program. The incumbent provides leadership to clinical team and on-site management support in collaboration with the program manager/director.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe and appropriate specialized programs.
  • Assesses patients, develops and implements treatment programs to meet the goals of treatment services and patient needs.
  • Establishes treatment goals.
  • Evaluates therapy results and modifies treatment plans accordingly.
  • Develops discharge plans in collaboration with patient, family and treatment team members.
  • Participates as an active member of the treatment team.
  • Participates in the department and service delivery unit's quality improvement programs.
  • Evaluates and assists in procurement of needed resources.
  • Performs leadership role for therapy teams.
  • Provides direct clinical supervision of programs, group work and family education.
  • Serves as a liaison with all mental health and legal services as required.
  • Assists program manager/director with providing on-site clinical and leadership interventions.
  • Provides direct patient care in area of expertise.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
  • Knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development.
  • Ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Four years of progressive leadership experience.

Licenses Required

  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • One of the following
    • Current Music Therapy certification through the Certification Board for Music Therapy (MT-BC)
    • Current registration as an Art Therapist (ATR) with the American Art Therapy Association.
    • Current licensure to practice as a Master Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (MTRS) in the State of Utah.
    • Current licensure to practice as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) in the State of Utah.
    • Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) by the Art Therapy Credentials Board.
