This position provides supervision for University of Utah Health procedural areas for radiation safety, equipment and products.. This role serves to consult, advise, and recommend best practices within the specialty area in an effort to improve the overall patient experience, quality of care and reduce cost to both the patient and the organization. The incumbent supports in the management of the operations and strategic planning of human resources, patient services, and financial management for their assigned specialty area. The incumbent will coordinate and strategically align their team with the PROMISE standards set forth by organizational leadership and provide insight into a variety of patient experience outcomes, making recommendations for improving performance as it relates to the service line. This position will also collaborate with multiple levels of leadership across the organization to ensure the management and maintenance of all equipment in the clinical unit. This position directs radiation safety for the team members and patients in this area. This position participates in equipment, products/supplies purchases and evaluations for the clinical area. The department uses state-of-the-art technology and provides clinical expertise in a complete range of services including, but not limited to, vascular, oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, musculoskeletal, cardiac, breast, and women's health. The Interventional team performs an array of minimally invasive interventions in the care of patients. The team and their staff work collaboratively on an inter-disciplinary team of neurologists, cardiologist, anesthesiologist oncologists, and surgeons on difficult and complex cases, leveraging cutting-edge treatment options that are safer and more cost-effective than some traditional surgeries.
