This position assists in the cognitive evaluation of patients by administering, scoring and reporting the results of standardized tests of mental ability, as well as recording behavioral observations of patients during testing.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administration, scoring, and reports results of standardized mental ability tests and questionnaires.
  • Assists in abstracting relevant medical information from patients' charts and in obtaining medical history from patients and their families.
  • Records behavioral observations and works to ensure that patients give their best effort during testing.
  • Prepares and enters testing data into patient registry and maintains records.

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
  • Ability to provide care appropriate to the population served.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
  • Participates in rotation of work area, weekends, weekday hours and assigned holidays. This position may work with a wide variety of patient populations dependent upon program/service assignment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field, or equivalency.

  • This position involves intermediate work that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects while providing patient care to those with psychiatric conditions.
