This position is for an operational position managing NAS and SAN environments. This position will help support complex storage environments which provide core services to the organization and support our business services. The person in this position will handle operational tasks helping with the ticket queue and SAN zoning, file shares and permissions, block and NAS storage for a variety of applications including various Databases, Hypervisors, and Operating Systems.

 

This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Managing ticket queue, file share creation and managing permissions, reporting, capacity planning, assisting with hardware installs and lifecycle management of gear.
  • Provides assistance in troubleshooting support for storage and services utilizing storage.
  • Proactively monitors and resolves problems with storage and services utilizing storage.
  • Installs, assists with patch management of hardware, and servers that support the storage infrastructure.
  • Collaboratively investigates outages and issues to correct problems and properly address risks.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with the ability to respond to issues, or hardware failures in a timely manner.
  • Needs to have excellent customer service practices as this position will be working a lot with end users on completing requests and troubleshooting storage issues.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Knowledge of managing SMB and NFS file shares, creating file shares, managing permissions, and quotas. 
  • Creating NFS exports and assigning permissions.
  • Knowledge of Netapp Cluster mode and Cohesity.
  • Experience with block storage environments, creating zone sets, LUNS and allocating storage to servers. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues within the SAN.
  • Monitoring NAS and SAN performance, reporting on capacity utilization, and helping with capacity planning for growth. 
  • Additional relevant experience including storage task automation experience, server hardware (HP), VMware, host operating systems (Unix, Linux, ESX, and Windows.
  • Designing new storage solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Ensuring stability and availability of the storage platforms.
  • Coordinating with senior admins to ensure stability and completeness of our solutions.
  • Providing exceptional customer service.
  • Willingness to work with engineering and operations team members to ensure stability and performance of storage solutions.
  • An emphasis on business needs and customer relations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent customer and team relationship skills.
  • Ability to work well with other bright individuals both technical and not.
  • Strong documentation skills.  Ability to adapt and learn new concepts and technologies.
  • Able to work under stress and handle multiple critical priorities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Experience in systems administration.
