This position supervises clinical support employees and/or processes by coordinating and overseeing work assignments. The incumbent ensures relevant policies and procedures are implemented. This individual participates in the interview process as well as assesses, develops and provides training for new and existing employees. This position has the authority to determine appropriate training needs and initiate disciplinary action.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the work of an area in the department in mission, vision, and values.
  • Drives the operation in alignment of goals and strategy of the department.
  • Schedules labor and equipment.
  • Drives operations in alignment with policies and procedures.
  • Maintains responsibility for the training and education of staff, including annual compliance and licensing/certification.
  • Accounts for the accurate reporting of time and attendance of direct reports.
  • Travels between multiple clinics, as necessary.
  • May manage the hiring, orienting, and development of staff.
  • May conduct employee evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary processes to align employee performance and behaviors.
  • May assist clinical staff in patient-related procedures, only as the incumbent's licensure and certification allows.
  • May assist office staff in daily operations, as necessary.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
  • Demonstrated organizational, human relations, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve staff and scheduling conflicts in order to meet department goals and needs.
  • Ability to orchestrate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Four (4) years of related experience, or the equivalency.
  • Depending upon department of hire, a relevant license or certification may be required.

Licenses Required

  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
* Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • An Associate or Bachelor degree in a related area, such as Accounting, Business, or Healthcare Management.
