  • The Senior Telemedicine Coordinator is responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care by collaborating with referring providers and coordinating programs and projects that enhance patient safety and well-being across the organization.
  • This role oversees program operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and supports the provision of high-quality services that facilitate consultations and referrals, potentially leading to patient transfers from other healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the delivery of patient care by working closely with referring providers.
  • Gathers essential patient information from referring physicians and external facilities to facilitate proper triage and placement of patients into their programs. May use PACS, EPIC, Smart Web software platforms.
  • Identifies, assesses, and diagnoses problems through patient assessment and/or interactions; evaluates actual or potential patient health problems.
  • Assesses, plans and implements interventions for solving patient care problems.
  • Formulates care plans for specific patients and documents the nursing process in patient's record.
  • Provides guidance and direction to members of the health care team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Provides and oversees patient care in accordance with established nursing protocols and physician orders.
  • Coordinates and facilitates programs and projects aimed at promoting patient safety and well-being.
  • Oversees the efficient and effective operation of assigned programs.
  • Supports the delivery of reliable, high-quality services that enable consults and referrals.
  • Develops new programs and coordinates their implementation, including training all internal and external staff and conducting follow-up meetings/reviews after start of program.
  • Creates and revises policies and procedures to ensure smooth program operations.
  • Maintains a smooth and efficient operational program.
  • Coordinates and facilitates Telemedicine calls and encounters, possibly assisting with the TeleHUB line and services.
  • Collects thorough patient information, enters into the relevant electronic system and conducts accuracy checks to ensure data integrity. This process may involve documenting interactions with internal and external departments or agencies for follow-up purposes and quality management.
  • Maintains the Telemedicine schedule and data management. Including building reports and dashboards to report out to leadership, to improve care.
  • Sets up, monitors, and tests telemedicine equipment routinely and prior to patient visits as necessary. Trains internal and external staff as needed on the equipment, apps or websites to ensure quality patient outcomes while utilizing telehealth services.
  • Works with ONDT team on maintaining licensure and credentialing for clinicians participating in programs.
  • Works with ONDT education team to identify and provide educational opportunities related to programs to contracted sites.
  • Keeps current on advances in nursing care by participating in educational programs.

  • Ability to learn the latest technology in telemedicine.
  • Current knowledge of medical laws, rules and policies such as privacy and HIPAA.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Skills in prioritization and workload management, even in high-pressure and fast-paced settings.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Two (2) years of nursing experience.

Licenses Required

  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact if switching residency to State of Utah. Must maintain current Interstate Compact (multi-state) license if residency is not being changed to Utah.

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
