The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) Patient Placement Coordinator/ Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination of MCOT services by acting as the interface between various service lines within the Crisis department. This is a fast-paced position which requires attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
This position is responsible for coordinating dispatch services between requested departments. The incumbent uses a multi-line telephone system to receive and relay information to the appropriate units and creates and logs encounters. This position routinely works with clinicians and physicians to help coordinate throughput and placement of patients.
Department/Program Overview:
The HMHI Crisis Team and Warm Line and are part of the Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI) Free Community Crisis Response Program. HMHI has teamed up with Salt Lake County and OptumHealth SLCo to provide free crisis response and hospital diversion programs that aim to keep all our family members, friends, and neighbors safe. The community crisis service programs are designed to provide community members with a full range of options to help solve the crisis in the best setting possible.
The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) is dispatched by the crisis response team to provide professional clinical services to those in need during a crisis event.
