University of Utah Health is seeking an additional Psychiatric Technician to act as Camp Counselor for our Autism Adventure summer camp team at the Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI)!
We're seeking outgoing individuals with an associates degree or at least two years of paid applicable work experience to join our awesome team.
This position is responsible for planning and implementing community-based autism programming and related recreational activities. Experience working with youth and/or autistic individuals is preferred but not required. Experience directly in summer camp is not required. Psychiatric Technicians will also gain professional experience in project development, managing technology platforms, and multimedia initiatives.
The Autism Adventure camp runs Tuesdays through Thursdays, 9am-3:30pm, June 11th - August 1st, 2024. Psychiatric Technicians can expect to work 24 hours/week during those times. 25+ hours of required training must be completed by June 12th, 2023. Further employment after the program ends is possible, based on positive merit throughout the summer and business need.

Autism Adventure Camp (Camp Au’venture for short) is a recreation-based summer program designed for 8 - 12 year olds with level 1 autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The camp offers a unique approach to building self-care, social connections and social skills for children with and without autism.
