  • This position is responsible for troubleshooting, coordinating repairs, maintaining, and providing operating room staff with technical and training support for peri-operative audio visual, imaging, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational support for audio visual systems, microscopes, and imaging equipment within the operating room. Provides first level troubleshooting of electronic equipment.
  • Prepares operating rooms for video and imaging systems. Ensures that users are familiar with the use of video and imaging equipment and features.
  • Records video as requested.
  • Responds to trouble calls from operating room personnel in assigned areas.
  • Participates in the planning, purchasing and implementation of electronic equipment within the operating room.
  • Coordinates regularly scheduled preventive maintenance work on electronic systems and equipment in the operating room.
  • Orders and maintains proper stock levels of electronic accessories.
  • Maintains inventory records of fixed assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Two years of experience working in an information technology, biomedical, or an audio-visual environment.
  • Experience with electronic systems, including audiovisual equipment, endoscopic equipment, microscopes, and image guidance systems.

  • This position involves light work that may exert up to 20 pounds and may consistently require light work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects involving patient care or medical equipment. Incumbents are exposed to electrical hazard when working with or fixing the equipment.
