This position provides leadership and management over the Cardiac Ultrasound Lab. This role serves to consult, advise, and recommend best practices within the specialty in an effort to improve the overall patient experience and reduce cost to both the patient and the organization. The incumbent manages the operations and strategic planning of human resources, patient services, and financial management for their assigned specialty area. The incumbent will coordinate and strategically align their team with the PROMISE standards set forth by organizational leadership and provide insight into a variety of patient experience outcomes, making recommendations for improving performance as it relates to the service line. This position will also collaborate with multiple levels of leadership across the organization to ensure continuity and quality of service. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line.This position may provide direct patient care and access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hospital business operations and demonstrated strategic planning skills.
  • Knowledge of budgeting practices, reporting analysis, and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of information technology, Epic, Business Objects, scheduler, and other efficiency tools.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, a clinical field, related area, or the equivalency.
  • Four (4) years of progressively more responsible leadership experience.

Licenses Required

  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • One of the following
    • Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
    • Current certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
* Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related area.
