Overview

The Associate Director, AI Literacy and Training provides strategic and program-level leadership for the development and delivery of enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) literacy, training, and change-management programs that build an AI‑confident workforce and support safe, responsible adoption of approved AI tools.

 

This role partners with operational, clinical, IT, Learning & Development, and governance stakeholders to identify AI skill gaps, design targeted learning solutions, and support effective onboarding and use of enterprise AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot). The role monitors training effectiveness, continuously updates content as AI capabilities evolve, and promotes a culture of continuous learning aligned with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

 

This position does not provide direct patient care.

 

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Education, Business Administration, Organizational Development, a related area, or equivalency.
  • Six years of progressively responsible management and strategic planning experience, including three years leading training, enablement or digital adoption programs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in an academic health system and/or clinical operations environment.
  • Certification in change management or instructional design.
  • Familiarity with Epic-adjacent enablement and enterprise analytics reporting.

Responsibilities

AI Literacy & Training Program Leadership

  • Leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise AI literacy and training programs aligned to established AI strategy and governance.

Curriculum Design & Delivery

  • Develops role-based learning pathways for leaders, clinicians, and workforce teams in collaboration with Learning & Development.

Tool Onboarding & Safe-Use Enablement

  • Coordinates onboarding and training for approved AI tools aligned with security, privacy, and compliance.
  • Partners with Security, Privacy, and Compliance to reinforce guardrails and user communications.

Change Management, Upskilling & Adoption

  • Supports AI adoption through change management, stakeholder engagement, and communications alignment.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Tracks training effectiveness and adoption metrics and contributes to governance reporting.
  • Responsible to achieve quality goals for assigned area(s).
  • Manages and promotes continuous process improvements based on learner feedback, outcomes data, and governance updates.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Partners across IT, clinical, operational, and governance teams to ensure coordinated training delivery.
  • Engages stakeholders with updates and listening sessions.
  • Fosters positive relationships with staff, peers, and senior leadership.
  • Engages teams in organizational news, decisions, and recognition

Financial Oversight and Resource Management

  • Manages assigned budgets and training vendors within approved enterprise standards.
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring and achieving budget goals.
  • Manages labor and non-labor expenses to budget or flex budget.

EPE/Service

  • Responsible for user satisfaction and effectiveness metrics of integrated AI systems.
  • Responsible for upholding PROMISE standards of direct reports and team members.
  • Upholds organization service standards (e.g., PROMISE) in all learner interactions, communications, and enablement engagements.

Talent and Performance Management

  • Builds, leads, and develops high-performing teams, supporting product management, integration, and analytics.
  • Provides feedback, conducts performance appraisals, and fosters professional growth for staff.
  • Proactively addresses conflicts and promotes team cohesion and resolution.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to perform the functions of the position, as outlined above.
  • Demonstrated leadership in enterprise training, adult learning, and organizational change management in complex environments.
  • Knowledge of health care business operations and demonstrated operational planning skills.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting practices, reporting analysis, and forecasting.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and digital workplace enablement (e.g., M365 Copilot); ability to translate capabilities into safe, value-focused use patterns.
  • Understanding of AI governance and risk (privacy, security, responsible AI practices) and ability to operationalize requirements through training and communications.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to build trust and an AI-confident culture.
