Under the oversight of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.) this position provides psychological and social support to patients and families and may be responsible for integrating counseling services with overall patient care. The Social Worker assists patients in meeting their psychosocial needs whether it be, the supervised practice of mental health therapy or facilitating patient adjustment in treatment, hospitalization or transition into the community after therapy.

This position is responsible for providing respiratory care by determining and performing appropriate treatments for a variety of cardiopulmonary deficiencies. Presents diagnostic evaluations and subsequent education for on-going management and care to patients. This position may be required to work in one or more specialty areas. Burn Center
Bed Size: 15 beds
Unit Description: Our Burn Center is a holistic care center that has its own 15 bed ICU, physical and occupational therapy, outpatient center, operating room, and community outreach and after care programming departments. It truly is a center of excellence that provides services to the Intermountain West. We have been distinguished as an American Burn Association/American College of Surgeon Verified Burn Center.

All newly hired RNs in this position will attend a 7-week Transition to Practice Program where they will learn about fundamental skills, protocols and standards of care at University of Utah Health. New graduate RNs (with less than 1 year of experience as an RN) will also be automatically enrolled in our year-long Nurse Residency Program where they will meet for four hours once a month to receive additional education and support as they begin their career with U Health.
