This position may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to State Law.     Huntsman Cancer Hospital’s ICU/IMU Bed Size: 16   Unit Description: Huntsman Cancer Hospital’s ICU/IMU unit provides critical care to patients that have an acute or chronic condition that is primary or secondary to cancer. Medical oncology, hematology, BMT and surgical oncology patients are all admitted to the HICU. As the only Oncology ICU in the Intermountain West, we serve a large variety of patients and conditions including:  - Hemodynamic instability due to sepsis or hypovolemia - Respiratory compromise requiring ventilator support - Rejection or significant relapse to cancer therapy - Craniotomies - Extensive and complex surgeries and high risk patients receiving chemotherapy We are the cardiac arrest and rapid response team for the Huntsman Cancer Hospital and Clinics where we work with a multidisciplinary team to provide emergency support and continued aftercare to all that receive their care at our facility. We have received recognition for being in the top 1% for patient satisfaction and exceptional patient services. We have also been recognized quarterly in nursing communication, pain management and exceptional patient experience. As a department, the Huntsman ICU works as a shared model department and utilize a Clinical Practice Council that consists of nurses, nursing assistants, health unit coordinators and leaders to drive policy and practice changes and development.
