Overview:
- This position performs work in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning trade involving the installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, programming and repair of electric, pneumatic, electronic, and computerized control systems.
- The work involves reading and interpreting building blueprints and HVAC systems diagrams and specifications, isolating and identifying problems, and installing and calibrating controls and equipment according to specifications.
- The incumbent will be the lead responder when Operating Room RH and temperature issues are reported.
- All work is performed under the general supervision of the shop supervisor or lead, and in some instances, under the direction of an engineer or project coordinator.
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities over subordinate workers, but may oversee the work of trades helpers, mechanics, or other skilled craft workers involved in specific projects.
- Work is reviewed by observation of results and effective operation of HVAC system controls. Job requirements, on occasion, require work beyond normal duty hours in support of emergency or high priority work.
