EO/AA HMHI day treatment programs provide 40 hours per week of clinical care to youth with mental health issues. Teenscope provides services for adolescents (12-18) and Kidstar provides services for children (6-12). We work on a multi-disciplinary team with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, education specialists, music and recreation therapists, and psychiatric technicians. The psychologist position would support youth in Teenscope and Kidstar. The role of the psychologist in day treatment is to function as the primary therapist in creating and implementing treatment plans to build skills for young people and return them to the ability to function in daily life within 4-6 weeks. Psychologists in day treatment conduct individual and family therapy, run groups, and help shape milieu inventions. They are also the primary contact for families during the child/adolescent’s admission to the program and often help to coordinate the team’s plan for intervention. In addition, psychologists administer psychological testing to assist in diagnostic clarification. Ideal candidates have strong clinical skills, have worked with adolescents, children and their families and have experience on a multidisciplinary team. Experience administering personality and intellectual assessments is required, and competence administering the ADOS is strongly preferred. Proficiency with technology, including Google applications and Zoom, is also preferred.   Huntsman Cancer Hosptial Inpatient Physician Assistant Fellowship    To apply, the candidate must submit a current curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation (ideally from the program attended and/or clinical preceptors), and a letter of intent.  The letter of intent should describe the applicant’s motivation and interest in the fellowship and how they feel their involvement will benefit the program University of Utah Hospital or Huntsman Cancer Hospital. Please make sure they are sent no later than March 15th, 2024.   Explore this exciting opportunity to complete a 12-month training program with the Inpatient Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Service at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).  The Postgraduate Oncology APC training program will prepare APCs to care for cancer patients as part of a multidisciplinary team, focusing on inpatient care.   As a valued member of a dynamic team, the APC is on the front-line of patient care. The person chosen for this fulltime, benefited position, will train with multiple different teams to provide care for oncology/hematology patients at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital.  This approach will allow for understanding of the most common cancers and the differing treatment options.   There will be an emphasis on hematology and oncology patients and the goal will be to assume an open full time inpatient hematology or oncology position following successful completion of the fellowship.       We are looking for motivated, patient-focused individuals who have a strong interest in caring for patients with cancer.
