This position provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients and assists with the provision of basic patient care needs.   YA CAT Program Overview: The Young Adult Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment (YA CAT) Program at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute is an elective service that offers a 4-8 week, comprehensive clinical evaluation for individuals of ages 18-30 in a residential environment with the capability of providing stabilization in a supervised setting, either before transitioning to the residential facility or if such stabilization is required following decompensation while at the residential facility.   Unlike an acute inpatient hospitalization, the duration of the YA CAT Program allows for the opportunity to conduct expansive diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Such interventions include regular psychiatric and medical evaluation, psychological assessment, behavioral and educational/career/vocational assessment, and individual, family, and group psychotherapy.   The YA CAT Program utilizes a multi-disciplinary team of a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, nurses, career/vocational specialist, expressive therapists (music, art, and recreation), psychiatric technicians, and dietitians.   The comprehensive nature of the assessment helps to provide diagnostic clarity and guide recommendations for future therapeutic modalities and treatment levels of care.   https://healthcare.utah.edu/hmhi/treatments/comprehensive-assessment-treatment/young-adult-program.php   Corporate Overview: The University of Utah is a Level 1 Trauma Center and is nationally ranked and recognized for our academic research, quality standards and overall patient experience. Our four hospitals and seventeen clinics provide excellence in our comprehensive services, medical advancement, and overall patient outcomes.   It's been a winning 11 years...   For the sixth year running in 2020, University of Utah Hospital is ranked the No. 1 hospital in Utah, and in the Salt Lake City metro area, by U.S. News & World Report.   University of Utah Health was also ranked as one of America’s Best Large Employers by Forbes in 2018 and again in 2019, and is the only health care provider from the state of Utah to receive the designation.    University of Utah Health credits its employees for its national ranking as a Top 10 Academic Medical Center for quality and safety for 11 consecutive years!   In addition to its placement on the top 10 list, U of U Health also ranked 2nd in Vizient’s Ambulatory Care Quality and Accountability Awards in 2020. This is the fifth year in a row the U has ranked in the top five in this category.   And according to Becker's Hospital Review, analysis on ranking and award agencies for excellence in clinical care, patient outcomes, and staff and physician satisfaction, University of Utah Hospital has been ranked among the top 100 great hospitals in America four years in a row.   In 2019, the Huntsman Family announced a commitment of $150 million to UNI to establish the Huntsman Mental Health Institute. The institute is expected to become a nationally-recognized leader in research, care, education and community outreach—and a model for other states to follow.   In our 2020 employee engagement survey results: • 99% of our employees were proud to tell people they work here! • 99% of our employees would recommend us to family and friends who need care! • 98% of our employees would recommend this as a good place to work! These are fantastic statistics on their own, and are more than 30 percentage points higher than the national average. And OUR PEOPLE are the reason for these remarkable figures.   Not surprisingly, health care organizations with higher levels of staff engagement also have higher patient satisfaction scores, better staff retention, and a stronger culture of safety.  It’s a great place to work and live, and the nation is taking note!   As a patient-focused organization, University of Utah Health exists to enhance the health and well-being of people through patient care, research and education. Success in this mission requires a culture of collaboration, excellence, leadership, and respect. University of Utah Health seeks staff that are committed to the values of compassion, collaboration, innovation, responsibility, diversity, integrity, quality and trust that are integral to our mission.
